I’m Jim Sheerin, the principal behind Penn IT.
The Delaware Valley metropolitan region has always been home. I even graduated from Delaware Valley College with a BS Business Administration. My first job was with a small insurance firm. No one else had a clue about maintaining their information system so they gave that responsibility to the new kid. And I became very good at it.
While still holding down my day job, I went back to night school. Newly certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional and a Microsoft Small Business Specialist, I went to work for a pharmaceutical company- manning their IT help desk. Within three short years I rose quickly from Help Desk jockey to the Primary System Support Specialist.
Through a company affiliation with IBM Global Services I was exposed to the consulting needs of small and medium size business. Their problems mirrored those I had been solving for years and I found I had an immediate impact. It was more satisfying working with them. Having long ago proven my expertise, I started Penn IT in 2007.

Because of my experience, hiring the best people is easy for me. They can’t fool me and I don’t like prima-donnas. All of our engineers are Microsoft certified. But more importantly, when they come out to your location, they are trained to listen carefully first and speak in understandable terms.
